How to Request Account & Data Deletion

You can request your account and associated personal data to be deleted through either of the following methods:

Method 1: Web Request (No app installation required)

1. Scroll down to the Online Deletion Request Form on this page.
2. Enter your registered email address and click Send Verification Code.
3. Check your email inbox for the 6-digit One-Time Password (OTP) sent to confirm your identity.
4. Enter the 6-digit OTP code, choose an optional reason for leaving, and click Confirm Account Deletion.
5. Your account is immediately deactivated, hidden from search, and scheduled for permanent data purge.

Method 2: Inside the Matang Vivah Mobile App

1. Open the Matang Vivah application on your mobile device.
2. Navigate to your Profile / Settings menu.
3. Select Account Settings → Delete Account.
4. Verify your identity via your registered credentials or email OTP.
5. Confirm your deletion request.

Types of Data That Are Deleted

Upon processing your account deletion request, the following user data associated with your profile is permanently erased from active systems:

• Identity & Profile Details: Full name, date of birth, age, gender, community, sub-caste, gotra, marital status, physical attributes, mother tongue, and personal bio/expectations.
• Contact Information: Registered email address, mobile phone number, residential address, and family contact details.
• Education & Professional Info: Educational qualifications, degrees, colleges, employer name, job title, and income brackets.
• Family & Social Background: Parents' names, siblings' details, native location, and family lifestyle info.
• Uploaded Media & KYC: Profile photos, additional gallery photos, and identity/verification documents uploaded to the platform.
• Matchmaking & Activity Data: Shortlisted profiles, interest requests sent and received, search preferences, partner criteria, and in-app notifications.

Data Retained & Statutory Retention Period

Certain limited categories of data may be retained after account deletion strictly where required by applicable laws or necessary security purposes:

• Financial & Billing Records: If you made any financial payments or purchased membership packages, transaction invoices and payment identifiers are retained for up to 7 years in compliance with applicable Indian tax and financial reporting statutes.
• Fraud Prevention & Security Logs: Basic audit trail records (such as account deletion confirmation timestamp and IP address) are maintained in secure, encrypted logs for up to 90 days to prevent malicious account takeovers, unauthorized deletion requests, and spam abuse.

Note: Retained records are kept securely restricted and are never used for marketing, matching, or profiling purposes.

Timeline & Deactivation Process

• Immediate Deactivation: As soon as your OTP is verified and the deletion is confirmed, your account status is set to deleted (matangvivah_deleted = 1). Your profile is instantly hidden from all search results, recommendations, and public view. Active login sessions across mobile app and website are immediately terminated.
• Login Restriction: Any further login attempts using the email address are strictly blocked.
• Permanent Data Purge: All personal data, media files, and profile details are permanently purged from active databases within 30 days of the deletion request.
